Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 May 2026
Voltline is a free, browser-based collection of engineering tools. We care about your privacy and built Voltline to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the site.
Who we are
Voltline is operated by Ali Iguider, based in the Netherlands. For any privacy question you can reach us at ali.iguider@voltline.app.
Our approach
There are no user accounts and no advertising. We use Google Analytics only if you give consent through the cookie banner. Apart from that, everything Voltline does happens inside your own browser.
What we process
- Calculations. The calculators run fully in your browser. The values you enter are not sent to us and are not stored on any server.
- Written interpretation (optional). If you choose to generate the written interpretation of a result, the relevant calculation inputs and results are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates the text and returns it. This data is processed only to produce that response and is not used by us to identify you.
- Report details (optional). If you create a PDF report, the name, email and logo you enter are stored only locally in your browser (in local storage) so you do not have to type them again. They are never sent to us, and you can remove them at any time by clearing your browser data.
- Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — for example visitor numbers, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, session duration, and which pages and links you interact with. This data is collected and processed by Google on our behalf. We do not use it to identify you personally, and you can decline or withdraw your consent at any time.
- Contact. If you contact us by email, we receive your name, email address and message so that we can reply. We keep this only for as long as needed to handle your request.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes basic technical data such as your IP address and request logs to deliver the site securely and reliably. This is standard server logging.
Cookies and analytics
Voltline does not use advertising cookies. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are placed only after you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer. Local storage is also used for the optional report details described above.
Legal basis (GDPR)
We process the limited data above on the basis of your consent (for analytics cookies, the optional interpretation feature, and when you contact us), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the site securely (for example basic server logs).
International transfers
Our analytics provider (Google) and our AI provider (Anthropic) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it takes place under the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we do not store personal data on our servers (other than any email you send us), there is usually little for us to act on, but you are welcome to contact us at ali.iguider@voltline.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
